Rolling Meadows students have access to schools which have all achieved excellence in education. Three school districts, several parochial and private schools, as well as childcare facilities serve the area.
Community Consolidated School District #15 (847-963-3000) is committed to its 19 schools and all of the students enrolled. Its mission is to give a solid foundation and to help students develop to their full potential as independent learners and problem solvers.
Fourteen K-6, one K-8, three junior highs, and one alternative school comprise the district.
District #15 is the only school district in the state to receive the Achievement of Excellence Award from the Lincoln Foundation for Business Excellence. Six schools have been recognized by the United States Department of Education as Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence. Also, the National School Boards Association awarded the first Reed Hundt Award for Excellence to the district for use of technology in supporting student learning.
The district works closely with parents, PTAs and PTSAs, senior citizens, advisory committee members and other community representatives. Also, the district has developed effective partnerships with many community businesses to extend learning beyond the classroom.
Rolling Meadows High School (847-718-5600) is one of six high schools in District 214 and serves the eastern area of the city. More than 88 percent of its graduates continue on to higher education. The schools provide more than 300 academic courses, twelve advanced courses, and about 48 clubs and 15 different music organizations.
William Fremd High School (847-755-2600) is located in neighboring Palatine and serves the western area of Rolling Meadows. More than 95 percent of graduates continue on to higher education. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum, advanced placement opportunities, summer school, and a broad sports program. The school is affiliated with local businesses through the Northwest Suburban Education to Careers Partnership - a leader in Tech-Prep programs.
Parochial and Private schools include St. Colette Elementary School, Christian Liberty Academy, Creative Children's Academy, Immanuel Lutheran School, St. Peter's and St. Viator High School. Daycare and Preschools include Children's Meadows, Meadows Childcare, Rolling Meadows Park District, and St. Colette.
HIGHER EDUCATION
William Rainey Harper College, (847-925-6000) in nearby Palatine, is one of the most well-respected and progressive junior colleges in the United States. The comprehensive community college enrolls 38,000 students in 18 buildings on a 200-acre campus.
Students here can earn associate degrees in arts, science, applied science, fine arts and engineering science. Also available are vocational programs and training. Harper's continuing education courses, seminars and short-term programs encourage lifelong learning. There are off-campus courses available throughout the community.
Roosevelt University (847-619-8285) opened its doors in 1978. With student enrollment growing, the university moved to Schaumburg, where it now serves more than 3,200 students. It is the only comprehensive private university campus in Chicago's northwest suburbs. The 30-acre campus offers classes in Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, and Education during the day, evening, and weekends to accommodate students' busy work and family schedules.
At DePaul University's campus (847-437-6220) in Rolling Meadows, technology and business curriculums, as well as liberal and fine arts, are emphasized among the university's 130 undergraduate and graduate programs. The campus, which opened in September 2000, offers courses leading to M.S. degrees from the School of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems and MBA degrees from Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
Argosy University (847-290-7400) on Golf Road offers undergraduate and graduate degrees through its School of Business, Illinois School of Professional Psychology and School of Education. Programs include Clinical Psychology, Professional Counseling, Business Administration, Education Leadership, Organization Leadership, Undergraduate Psychology and Business Administration.
